The Church Lads' & Church Girls' Brigade

The Object of the Brigade is "To extend the kingdom of Christ among lads and girls and to make them faithful members of the Church of England"

Church Based

As its title and object suggest, the Brigade is a Church based uniformed organisation that seeks to work with the young people of the parish. Its distinctive style and methods of working, and also its comprehensive range of its activities have a wide appeal, and this makes the Brigade an important link between the Church and the community.

Caring for the Individual

The Brigade seeks to help each of its members to widen his/her experience of the good things of life, and also to develop a healthy sense of self-discipline and awareness of other people. The training schemes, badge awards, camps, expeditions, etc are planned with this in mind.

Anglicanism

The organisation of the Church Lads' & Church Girls' Brigade was born within the Anglican church and firmly remains there. Worship in the Brigade is the worship of the local Anglican community and it is a requirement of the constitution that all officers must be regular communicant members of the local parish church. All members of the Brigade are encouraged to see themselves as part of their local Church and to develop a closer relationship with the Christian Fellowship there.
